Old Getz

My elderly mother, aged 73, currently drives a small Citroen C3. Her partner (89 years old) a Hyundai Getz 1.1. He wants to buy a scooter to use in town, and has looked at one that takes apart into 4 pieces, all manageable for my mother to lift, the battery being heavy and another piece being awkward to pick up. However today she has posed me the problem of what new smallish car could he buy that has a flat tailgate, that they would both be able to drive without too much adjustment from the current cars they have. She was asking me about the Peugeot Partner I have, but I think it would be too big.
They live in North Yorkshire and often drive through the Dales on Narrow Roads. Mother’s partner is also quite tall at 6’ 2’’. I would appreciate any advice and suggestions as to what to look at.
