Mr Softy

I am looking for a medium sized car that is comfortable to drive. Most makes have stiff suspension, sports seats and the like. Why? I drive a 2004 Ford Focus and the suspension is stiff, giving a bumpy ride especially for the passenger. Every other choice seems as bad-is there no reliable car out there with a decent suspension, which will absorb general bumps? I would appreciate your input/suggestions

A new model Renault Megane on 15" or 16" wheels has the best ride in its class. Some deals on them in the deals news at www.honestjohn.co.uk, I think from www.motorprovider.uk.com Alternatively a Nissan Qashqai Visia or Acenta on 15” or 16” wheels is very good over speed humps and potholes, but the ride quality deteriorates markedly on the 17” wheels and tyres of the Tekna.
