BM trouble you?

I am seriously considering buying a BMW 840/850 in the next few months. What is your opinion of these cars? I am considering spending £6,000 approximately, give or take a £1,000. I have heard rumours about electrical problems, so thought I would drop you a line and ask. Are there any other areas to watch?

Nice cars, but an arm and a leg if anything goes wrong, which is why they tend to get neglected and spend long periods off the road until someone buys it cheaply, fixes it and runs it until the next big problem occurs. A few pointers in car-by-car reviews at hjuk. Always remember, when you buy a £60,000 car for £6,000, the bills will be £60,000 car bills, not £6,000 car bills.
