Carry on cramping

I am in a dilemma. I read your reply to the person about the caravanette. I am a 61-year-old female, entering an adventurous second childhood, who loves the idea of roaming the countryside with my small home on my back for part of the warmer weather months. At the moment I have a boring 1.8TDCI Ford Focus. The only thing I like about it is the oomph. Would it be better for me to buy a motorhome on a small wheelbase such as a Romahome on a Fiat or Citroen base and use it all the time or keep my car and find a covered home for the motorhome for 6 months of the year? As the first way is expensive and running 2 vehicles is even more so advice would be appreciated.

You need a Romahome R10 solo, single berth camber based on the Citroen Nemo/Peugeot Bipper/FIAT Qubo (www.romahome.com). It’s a very bad idea to have a 2nd vehicle and only use it 6 months of the year. They deteriorate badly. Far better to get something small enough that you can use all the time. The ride quality of a Citroen Nemo is nothing like as good as a Focus, so that will be the sacrifice you have to make.
