Peugeot 106xn,1996 - Immobiliser? - Cat05

Car cut out when driving. When I tried to restart it,both the green and red lights came on together and won't start.

Mechanic and auto-electrician have had a look at it,no mechanical faults showing on diagnostics.

They have tried resetting code and also disconnected battery and reconnected but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

The immobiliser coil in the steering column often fails. It reads the ignition key coil. No signal = no start.

Well known fault. Approx £15 for a new coil and 20 minutes with a screwdriver..

If the car cut out while driving,I would be looking at a possible wiring or poor connection fault. The immobiliser is only needed to start the car. There is no reader coil in the steering column if the car is fitted with a keypad.hth
