Ford Focus 1.8 Diesel 2007/2008 (2008) - Battery Removal Procedure - Bin13

Just obtained a Type 110 (78AH) (700+A crank) silver calcium battery replacement. How do you remove the old one? In this model, the battery is fitted with one half of its length tucked under the bottom of the wiper / vent panel, adjacent to the front LHS suspension dome, longitudinally, front to back. The 110 case battery is huge for this size of vehicle and is normally found in high-end, high-capacity large vehicles. The Type 075 case, used in petrol models simply tilts up at the front end and lifts out, but it doesn't look possible with a battery this long. None of the usual sources seem to cover this problem. So do I have to start stripping out under-bonnet components to allow this battery to be removed or is there some different procedure for this vehicle? Any guidance appreciated, please?

A type 110 battery is too big in size for this car .I would think you need an 096 or similar.Removal of the battery is not too difficult and is often easier if you unbolt the earth lead from the strut earth point rather than the battery itself.hth
