Mercedes,Volvo, Saab, Alfa, Trooper,Zafira, C5 - Older Estate/4x4/MPV - logger

I am slowly narrowing down my choices for a good sized Estate/4x4/MPV under £2000

The choiceis twofold - reliability, mpg ( thats the head talking ) and style ( heart talking )

I have selected the following :-

Mercedes C180/E320 Diesel Estates

Volvo V70Petrol or Diesel Estate

Saab 9-5 Petrol Estate

Alfa 156 Sportswagen Diesel Estate

Citroen C5 Diesel Estate

Ford Mondeo Diesel Estate

Vauxahall Zafira Petrol

VW Sharan / Seat Alhambra diesel MPV

..finally Suzuki Xl-7 Grand Vitara

I will be doing around 5-8k miles a year and 'may' sometimes take 6 people ( hence the reason for the 7 seaters )..

Any owners or comments would be great

Thanks

Peter

Do any of the above come with 6/7 seats ?

If you want mpg and 6 seats concentrate on MPVs.

At that price condition is more important than make and model. Go for a petrol as your annual mileage is fairly low - there's no point in a diesel which could be expensive to repair if it goes wrong.

Mondeo petrol - no question, second I would choose the C5 petrol because out of that bunch it would be the newest car for your money. Why go diesel for 5-8K miles per year? If ultimate reliability is a clincher then put the Toyota Avensis (again petrol) on your list, saying that, a good Mondeo is very reliable.

My choice would be Volvo, you don't need diesel for that mileage.
