Bought a new Mazda in Sept 2008. Been serviced locally not with a Mazda Dealer.In May this year the car developed a grinding noise on full left lock. Took it to Mazda garage.They did experience the noise in the workshop but could not replicate the noise.They suggested it could be related to the tyres.The garage floor was tiled and therefore slippery.Approximately a week before the warranty expired the noise got worse. Took the car to a Tyre Centre who informed me that the noise was not related to the tyres at all.Took the car back to the Mazda Dealer about 2 weeks after warranty expires and was told that the car needed a new steering rack., and that it was not covered by the guarantee and that they will not help in any way . Tha part itslf costs £1500.00 plus Vat Anyone experienced this problem before when the car had only done 58.000 miles. Any views on my legal position. Thanks.
