Ford Focus Saloon - Can't start keeps locking - Ralphnme

I have a 2002 Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec (petrol) - never had any problems until I went to open the car, the central locking kept making a continous locking sound, the car would not start, turn over, not even any lights on the dashboard and the clock appeared to have reset itself. Since then I have charged the battery and tried to start the car without any luck, now when im trying to start the car the car tried to lock itself continously.

Any ideas?

It sounds like the battery is on its last legs, or there is a poor connection on the battery or earth.

Try cleaning the battery conexions & check the earth lead at both ends. Try putting on the headlights & starting the car, do the lights go out, if so suggest you get a new battery.
