Mazda 2.2 - Dodgy diesel? - Tyke1

I've read tales of woe about the deisel in the Mazda 6, but I'm trying to bottom out whether the problems also affect the 2.2 version introduced in 2009 or so. I can see that the 2 litre jobby comes in for plenty of stick re DFP issues.

I seem to remember the launch blurb mentioning a 'larger capacity DPF' and something about less frequent need for regenerations -- have a read of HJ's car-by-car review, it might be in there.

Having done a bit more research it seems less prone. Must confessed really shocked by the diesel stories on this BB and elsewhere and Mazda's seemingly stubborn customer service. I've had two Mazda 3s both of which did over 300,000 miles, the most recent a 2.0 diesel dating to 2001 (think is was sourced from Renault).
