Volkswagen Passat V6 4Motion 1995 - Throttle body replacement - Jono2905

Having spent nearly £2k on new cam belt, water pump, discs, tyres and 5,000 mile servicing, the emissions light came on and the main dealer wants £925 to replace the throttle body. Is this the only solution and is it worth it? The light is now off, can I keep on running and what harm might I do?
