Polo cl d 1.9 s plate - Gear box removal - stevethevanman

Hello has any one done one of these? Bad noise from bell housing area, have taken out small clutches befor but this looks like you need to lower sub frame.

Any sugestions would be great.

Isn`t there room to pull g/box out from under front n/s chassis member?If not,maybe there`ll be enough room to slide g/box away from enginel to be able to access shot release bearing/clutch cover&plate?

Can you remember the drill?Haven`t done this model but most fwd cars have similar procedure...

. ....jack under engine,remove the usual stuff in the way eg battery tray,air-box etc.Remove g/box mounting,tie up o/s drive-shaft,crack nut on n/s one,bowl to catch oil from g/box.Remove n/s wheel,hub,mc-strut, drive-shaft ...blab,blah,blah
