VW Comfort system is when you put the key in the lock turn it and hold it in that position the elec windows roll down, turn and hold opposite way windows go up, and no you can't turn it off!

Why would anyone want to open all the windows simultaneously via the door lock?

Comfort system being also the "how to easily steal a golf" system?

I think the idea behind it is when returning to your car after a sunny day you can quickly release the build up of heat.

(French) friend's Audi had the same facility from the remote key. Mind you, coming back from the beach in Marseille, the system was very useful....

Can you not just prise off the door panel and disconnect the wires to the microswitch? Or is the box of tricks a sealed unit?
volkswagen comfort system - Dave_TD
Why would you want to disable the system anyway? My old Cavalier had the closing windows/roof part of it, you had to hold the key in the locking position for 3 or 4 seconds before it started to work.

Because it is a big security flaw on VWs and loads have been "broken" into this way, apparently a screwdriver is enough to get the windows to open or something like that...

Correct. Mentioned here before - found these couple of links using the Site search:-

There are other threads, but I think you'll get the idea from the couple I have mentioned.

Also been mentioned on Watchdog:-

VW are bringing out a mod to fix the forced entry problem, will probably cost about £100, consists of plates on the door locks and removing some wires, but may be different, for more info see: UK MKIVS.NET
