Friends, the front dipped h/lights on my 98 416 are not working..
All other lights ARE working , I assume from the manual one fuse covers h/lights and one sides. So maybe it isn't the fuse...
Any ideas?
(Regards ft)

Look for a headlight relay.
Could be just a bad connection-try moving side to side.

Thanks Doc ,where do I find said item??

I am not familiar with your model, but I would expect to find the relay in the fuse box under the dash. (Probably drivers side)
Let us know how you get on.

It would be worth just checking that both bulbs haven't blown - coincidences do happen. And it's possible one bulb might have been dead for some time without you noticing it.

Thanku all ,Problem sorted..
Re above, I waggled the headlight fittings and got the
n'side one working.I couldn't get the drivers side one going and suspected it blown..
Off to my repairers, and the ass/mgr checked things over and replaced the other bulb.
I think the problem was caused by my letting the bonnet slam right down after each 'nosey' around. The manual says easy down letting it drop the last 6 inches..

We see lots of cars with no headlamps and the customer assumes the worst - and in the end it turns into being two blown bulbs!
