Is it possible for an EGR valve to produce smoke on cold starrting? I've got a 2002 Laguna 1.9 diesel and after a long journey recently the engine was idling roughly on morning start up, it also kicked out some white smoke.

I've had it in two garages and that's their best bet, the car seems to be running fine now though?
