Police Vehicles - Police Vehicle Registration - Bob Jackson
hi, was interested to know peoples thoughts on the following.

out of interest the other day i put a police cars registration into compare the market but the system did not recognise that the car existed. checked also on ebay (when you search fo tyres) but no luck.

any ideas why the DVLa would not supply this data for insurances, how the police register their cars?

the police do not insure their vehicles, they are exempt as they are bonded., nor do they pay road tax so there is no reason for them to be on a databse.

Some police forces do not insure their cars - most do often 3rd party with a huge excess, some are comp insured with even bigger excesses- first £1000+ of any claim.

also most police service vehicles are Mot exempt due to the stricter maintenance regime.
