406 damp start - Andy22
still problems with my 406.

it start very roughly in wet conditions as i understand 406's do, and i read somewhere that water can affect the engine management.

I have a can of damp start going spare, can i spray it over the engine management unit?

(Bear in mind until it drys it is liquid based)

You are unlikely to hurt the ECU with WD40, being a light oil water dispersant, but I would not use any sort of silicone sealant spray as this may trap water inside. The wiring connection "comb" that fits to the ECU can be treated with Vaseline to keep the individula pins clean and free from corrosion. Common problem on these is HT tracking inside the sealed-unit coil pack assembly. Very difficult to test for or proove, other than by substitution, which is expensive !!
