Honda Civic UK (2001 - 2005) - Civic timing belts

Civic timing belts - P.Mason {P}
Having just acquired a 2003 Civic 1.6 I checked the Car-by-Car, which says that the engine appears to be 'non-interference' when the belt fails. Can any Backroomer confirm this?

I wouldn't put it to the test - £200 every 70-80k miles saves a headache if it fails.

I don't intend to risk it! The handbook says 60k.-I've always changed the belt at 50 on the other Civics that I've owned.
