97 2.5 water spews from rad cap - carnut1980
my 523i has suddenly started to spew water from the rad cap when hot, so im guessing its pressurising. Could this be a dud water pump, or the dreaded head gasket? Or is there a simpler solution, like air in the system? Please help!

It could just be the cap, there was a recall across all models some time ago.
Try a new cap first as at least they are cheap at Eurocarparts.

the water also spews out without the cap on, i know it would anyway, but it seems like it isnt circulating, just boiling over, i will try a new cap anyway, cheers
