01 1.4 Suspension Arm - maltrap

I,m about to change the O/S suspension arm on my sons Polo. Is it a straightforward job or do i need any special tools, i intend replacing the whole assembly. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Your best bet is to buy a Haynes Manual.
I would imagine you would need a set of spanners, good quality socket set, 24" Breaker Bar. It is usefull to have a ball joint splitter and crow bar in order to leaver the ball joint out of the wheel hub assembly however you can improvise.
I have never done one on a Volkswagon, and probably never will, but I would spray some WD40 on all the nuts and bolts a couple of days before you tackle it because they are subject to the elements and probably pretty tight.
