406 immobiliser

406 immobiliser - Soundman
I've got a Peugeot 406 that won't let me change the immobiliser from manual (got to put in the code EVERY time) to automatic (open with key and start engine within 1 minute). I've tried the instructions and followed them to the letter but the next time I unlock the car the code has to go in manually. Is it me or is it Peugeot electrics? Is there a back up battery that remembers the settings that needs changing?
