In 2009 the format, as in the past few years, has been AB09XYZ and later AB59XYZ.

What will happen next year when we introduce two digits into the equation. I can see, say, AB10XYZ but what will happen in that September (2010)?

I presume 10 and 60
(then 11 and 61, 12 and 62, etc, with the year still being the second figure).

Thanks for that information. I should have done the research myself and not been so lazy.
I usually research things thoroughly!

Don't worry, many others use IHAQ, CRQ, etc. on www.honestjohn.co.uk/ as a substitute for google!

If the answer is given here, then it may then be picked up by the google-bots.

That's very clever!
Wish we had learnt computing like that at school, but then, we had to punch paper tape by hand at school, then take it to a room-sized computer at Twickenham Tech (probably had the computing power of my car's ECU).

I think this is better, even if I say so myself!
