03 2.0 - possible cam chain slapping - dan h8xme
the car seems to run fine and idles ok but sounds like a cam chain tenisioner has broke becouse the chains sounds like its slapping is that possible? cheers

Not sure on the Rover, but some engines have a hydrualic cam chain tensioner, it may be sticking, does it quieten as you rev it up. A change of oil preceded by a flushing additive could improve matters if it is sticking. Make sure you use the correct viscosity of oil.

rover reccomend 90,000 or 6 years for replacement ..sounds about due
