VED change and unintended consequences - Optimist
I've noticed how many ads there are in the papers for fairly high CO2 emitting cars at present, including very seriously high 4*4's.

Does anyone else think it's the manufacturers persuading people to buy before the showroom tax comes in? Would anyone do that?

If people do buy now rather than later, the law of unintended consequences operates so that instead of there being fewer high CO2 emitters, there are more and on the road earlier.
