Cambridge Congestion Charge survey - Dipstick
There is a proposal to put in place a congestion charge in Cambridge.

Just in case any county residents or visitors are not aware, there is a Council survey being carried out at present.

I have no idea whether the results will be taken into account at all or whether it's just a bit of cynicism and the end result is already decided.

Anyway, I've filled it in and made some suggestions; if you are interested and want to as well, it's here:

Closing date is only a week or two from now I think.

Link doesn't work, for me at least. I have grave doubts whether the infrastructure needed to collect a congestion charge, in such a small city would actually be paid for by the revenue collected. When I go there I always use the Madingley P+R, which is fine unless you have a lot of shopping to drag back. I think there are 3 P+R schemes around Cambridge and this may be some ploy to try and get people to use them more. £2 per person for return bus trip to town and parking is free.

Strange about the link.

Full thing is here but it's very long so I've broken it up - it needs to be one url.
