Aerodeck 2000 1.6LS - CV boot replacement. - Geoff J
The nearside CV boot has split on my Civic Aerodeck.
Does anyone know whether it is possible to remove the nearside outer cv joint to replace the boot or do you have to remove the whole drive shaft and dismantle the upper joint to replace the outer boot.

Any information to help me to decide on this would be appreciated.

Update to this post.

The nearside CV I beleive after speaking with several people may/does require a strip down of the inner CV Joint which means draing the transmission fluid.

If you can find a local mobile mechanic who has a hydraulic Boot stretcher and get the right type of CV boot (I was recommended "Bailcast Duraboot") then it can be stretched over the CV therefore removing the need to strip down the drive shaft saving hours.

Liverpool area mechanic who was very helpful and has the Bootstrecher is MVS 07850 250981.

Hope this will be helpful for other Honest John users.
