Fitting external music source to a Ford CD Changer - KevHull
I need a hand with fitting a standard CD changer, or rather I need to know where you can plug an external music source.
I want to fit a harman kardon ipod connection and it looks like it can be done by fitting it to the CD Changer output socket.

Thanks

slt and moved over from Discussion otherwise it'll be "you should have bought a Peugeot/BMW/Renault" rather than the help you need ! :-)

On the mk1 and 1.5 Focus (not sure about later models), you can remove the OEM stereo with a standard car stereo removal tool, available from places like Halfords.

Just push the prongs into the square holes on each side of the Focus stereo until you hear or feel a 'click'. You then just need to angle the handles out slightly and you should be able to pull the stereo out, carefully.

The CD changer socket is presumably on the back, if you've got a compatible stereo.

If it has seperate phono plugs for the sound then just pull them out of the changer and use a phono to jack plug conertor .
