Alfa Romeo 166 (1999 - 2005) - 2000 TS clutch change

2000 TS clutch change - bk.bas
I've been advised that my Alfa 166 (2000 lusso) needs a new clutch as the old one is very heavy to operate. Was wondering if clutch/thrust plate is most likely problem (or aomething else????) and if so can anyone can recommend a reasonable specialist in Hants or Dorset. I have been quoted around £750 from main dealer and £500 from highly regarded local independent. If someone can recommend a reputable specialist elsewhere who is considerably cheaper I might be able to travel!

looking at the six and a half hours booked for this by a man who knows how to strip it plus i assume a named warranted clutch kit then £500 sounds bargain ish to me
cheaper isnt always better
does hj in his good garages have any recommendations

Yep I'm with Bell boy & if it ain't a well branded clutch then go to the dealer. £750 aint dear to have someone who knows what their doing stip it.As bell boy says cheaper ain't always better
