53 reg tdci auto losing power maybe injectors - mondy555
Hi all i have mondeo tdci auto 53reg. It was parked up for around a year and when i started and drove it, it seems to lose power, over rev and doesnt want to change gear. The glow plug light (amber) is flashing constantly but the car starts first time. Its also got quite noisy. I got it diagnosed and was told it was a cylinder 2 fault, i never got the fault code off the chap. I sent it back to him and again never got the code, i was told it was a problem with the injectors. Could this be true, if so how much to fix this and i was also told it was a dealer only job.please help!!!

If it was parked for a year did the battery go flat? If so ask a garage to try recoding injectors first as they loose there coding & run rough. Also if the fault light is on it may well be in limp mode which will reduce power & cut the rev's back. You will need a dealer or a diesel specialist or someone with diagnostic kit that can recode diesel injectors & has experience in doing them as they have to be done at certain tempretures so it isn't a while you wait job.
