Asda Havoline oil...good buy? - steveo3002
was looking at the havoline 15/40 oil in asda...£7 odd for 5ltr vs about £13 for 4ltr of castrol

the havoline meets specs
acea a2/b2
api sl/cf
vw 505.00
mb 229.1

im right in think its plenty good enough for my old polo run about ?

btw the dearer castrol was the same spec

Yes,

Good oil and good value for money, my fathers Volvo 740 has done the last 90K (Changed every 5K or 6months) on Texaco Havoline 15/40w brought from Morrisions Petrol stations who seem to stock the full range. Our Local Volvo dealer use it in Bulk but charge something like £8 a litre.

thats good news then...im happy to buy a cheap but reasonble oil and change it often

i notice alot of other brands have dropped to 4ltr , so its even more expensive if you need a drop of top up inbetween services
