Why no cheap Accords - GroovyMucker
About this time in the model cycle - or even a bit earlier (Oct 2001) I bought a Honda Accord. It was £8,500, so pretty much half-price.

I thought I might do the same again but the cheapest I can find is £12,000 for the basic 2.0 petrol model, which is 2/3 price or even a little more.

Was I just lucky last time, do you think?

The old model didn't have the quality feel inside or the upmarket image of the new one, even though it was a very good car in its day.

How old is the £12k Accord anyway?

Market forces ????

GM - do you mean that you have been able to find a brand new Accord for £12,000? That sounds pretty good to me.

Sorry for my carelessness.

I bought a 16-month-old one.

The ones I've been finding for £12,000 are about that too.

I'd agree that it's market forces. The car's is demand.......

Between £9 and £10k will get you into a nice 2005 54 or 05 reg Accord.

Or your £8.5k will get you a 3-yr old model with somewhere between 40k to 60k on the clock.

Or just over £5k will get you into a 2003 2.0i VTEC SE 4dr Saloon - tinyurl.com/3y4uwk
