98 306 1.9 td - White smoke on start - wolfmeister
I know this seems to be a well covered topic, but am still tearing my hair out with this.

Anyway I have replaced the engine fitting the existing diesel pump. All seemed fine first few days then the white smoke returns. My mate who changed the engine reckons could be overfuelling or just worn.

Don't know what to do, have the which came with the engine, but don't think it is the same.
Anyone have any ideas what it could be air leak, diesel pump or just in need of some adjustment?

I had this issue, and was told it was a normal thing... changed to bosch glowplugs and bye bye to that problem!
