I have experienced an oil cooler failure (cracked) at 47000km and again at 113000km. Has anybody else experienced this kind of frequency?

za? Africa? How bad are the roads? Is this a rough road/ vibration problem?
What is the failure mode?

In a decade involved in rallying and other motorsport, I never knew anyone who had a oil cooler fail, except by being in a severe impact, and these cars take some punishment. Mocol is the make favoured by motorsport enthusiasts in the UK, try to get one to replace the (obviously weedy) OE item. Try www.demon-tweeks.co.uk if you can't find a local supplier. So much for Mercedes legendary robust engineering, heh?
