Honda Prelude a little jerky! - allan doc
just nought a 92 Prelude. It pasEed its Mot with no probs but i have noticed a slight prob. When i take off it seems to jerk a little. even when car is moving slow it still slightly jerks as if the power is dying but when i accelerate the car is smooth. Anyone any ideas of what the prob is?

Not much info to go on, but sounds like it COULD be something like th EGR valve.

Sorry for being vague on the last message. The problem with my Prelude seems to be when taking off at low revs. It seems to misfire cause a jerky feeling below 3000 revs. Once above this there is an increase in power and the car accelerates more smoothly. The car idles perfect and seems fine when revving up. The service history is unknown so im going to do that next week. I have checked the last reply and hopefully its not the EGR valve. Thanks for the post and would welcome anymore suggestions.

sounds like the spark is finding an easy way to earth until its either ticking over or under full load
