P Reg Saxo 1.1i - Engine Issues! - Jenk
Hi,
I have a P reg 1.1i Saxo which started off by not accelerating properly. It would judder and jump down the road no matter how much gas you gave it.
It now shakes and rattles itself to a complete stop even when trying to idle.
It only started doing a week or so ago and now shakes itself so much that it cuts out on the motorway.
Any help at all would be appreciated!!!!

Hi,
Not sure if your problem is related to one recently experienced on my Son's Saxo 1.4 Furio, but he had intermittent idling problems & I found by removing the connector at the back of the engine behind the throttle control unit & spraying with WD40 before replacing cured the problem.

not sure if the 1.1 engine has one but alot of idle control valves fail on peugeot/citroen engines causing similer problems, there usually situated near the inlet manifold and can sometimes be fixed by cleaning with carb cleaner(do not use wd40 the silione content just blocks the icv up again quite quickly) or replacements are around £30
