knocking sound, vw jetta - grouchos_tash
i've replaced both outer cv joints on my 1990 mk2 jetta but still theres a knocking noise when i turn right, coming from what sounds like the right hand side. also the steering wheel shakes at 55mph+ i don't know if this is related or not? thanks for the help

top mounts , ball joints, and lower arm bushes are all common wear points

the shake might be a wheel balance problem

you might have a buckled rim hitting a track rod end
i had this on a motor last week
with retro alloys fitted

i've done wheel balance, and also changed the wheels round (front to back) before hand to make sure it wasn't a buckled wheel. i'll have to check out the bushes etc, thanks!
