i have tried to remove the reversing light switch .
it is too big too slide out i dont want to force it.
any advise.
it seems a complicated looking switch with 4/5 wires
i was wondering if the white plastic comes off first?

What yr and model of Fiesta?
Used to be a problem on my old Mark 3, because switch was close to the road and got grimey...
Cleaning up connections and using vaseline seemed to help...
I guess you tried cleaning it up whilst on the car?
Mark 3 switch had red into black plastic and was situated on RH side of car looking into engine bay
on front side of Gearbox.
Currently have a Mk 4 (1996 - 2000) model.

its a 96 fiesta diesel courier van.
it is on the right (passenger side)
ive cleaned it but still wont work tested it with a mulimeter and its the switch.
it just doesnt seem to pull out without touching the side of the gearbox.
shAll i use a bit more force?

Look at anew one so you can see what its like etc so you know what you are taking out etc.
Shouldnt need any force to remove a reverse switch.

The reverse light switch you refer to is a bit of a pain to replace it, it is actually a ball and socket fixing which is why it is a bit of a pain to get out. You have to be a little bit brutal with it.Fitting the new one is not easy either as you have to push the ball home quite hard to get to fit.
