97 Astra - Cam belt replacement interval - Cornish Lass
Hi,

Anyone tell me how often cam belt should be done on 97 Astra 1.7 Diesel please?

Also, should the tensioners be done at the same time? If so is this part of the job or should I specify separately?

The reccomendation on the petrol car is every 4 years or 40.000mls i replaced the full kit inc tensioners etc, not sure if the diesel is the same i would have thought it is. good luck.

No idea of the interval, other than it has previosuly been mentioned on here that it is different to the petrol engine interval.

As regards to tensioner, if you specify a cambelt kit to whoever changes it, then that will include all the relevant parts needed. If the garage you're using are any good, they should recommend a cambelt kit as opposed to just the belt anyway.
