Peugeot 206 Odometer - Sim-O
Peugeot 206 GTi, 'T' reg.

Would anyone know why the odometer isn't working after removing and refitting the speedo/tacho/ temp gauge/etc unit?
Everything else works, lights and speedo, etc.

Sorry to state the obvious, but maybe the unit wasn't refitted properly. Have you tried removing and refitting again?

No apology needed.
I did it last night and only noticed this morning (sometimes the obvious needs stating :-) ) so I was going to di it again tonight but I am sure there is nothing to do wrong, two plug and a screw, even SWMBO could do it.
I was wondering if the thing needs plugging into a dealers computer to get it working again to try and hinder swapping of speedos for the purpose of clocking and suchlike.

Does this have a digital odometer? Can't vouch for Peugeot's, but with Vauxhall they use a bulb behind the digital odometer to illuminate it.

It is digital, but its not an illumated LCD display, like a digital watch, it is like little lights that make up the sections of the digits, like a mechanical digital clock, but with lights rather than flaps, so I don't think it is a bulb. There is only two connectors to the whole unit so what could go wrong? (now there some 'famous last words' if ever i heard some!)

SWMBO: ...is it a bulb blown?
Me: between removing the unit and putting it back in? to much of a coincidence. It's not a bulb.
SWMBO: if you say so. What would I know, anyway.

Of course.
The odometer looks like it is self illuminated, but is backlit.

Heres a tip for 206 owners, The later October 2001 onwards multiplexed 206s used LED instead of little bulbs for the instrument illumination.

Peugeot 206 Odometer - Spiritse

I have a 206 51 plat preplex systemj the same thing has happened with my Mileage, it has normal bublns and swapped it with working bulbs but still not working.

Any sugestions, also the clock backlight isnt working, just wondering if these are linked anyway.
