I have to say I am seriously tempted by this.....

Peugeot 505 4x4 Dangel>>
Fantastic! ... Still want that Audi Allroad?
|
the only thing that wants dangel-ing from is the scrappies crane

Hmmm, a great car but a bit steepish price wise even if it is unique.

Been on Ebay before - his price is steep.

Damn right, you could get something more pleasant a couple of years old for that price with a/c. Looks like some Soviet monstrosity.
|
Because it's a one off it's going to be worth whatever anyone's willing to buy for it.
I've always liked the 505s (don't ask me why....). I love this one for the fact it is totally unique and it's worth the money to be able to drive something that you know no one else in the whole country has.
It's also worth it for the real love it or hate it attitude you're going to get from people (think of it like Marmite)

Plus it does floods I would imagine.

This looks great - I remember my dad had a 504 family estate and then a 505 saloon. Think the 504 was the first car he ever had with a radio / cassette, then the 505 came with a radio cassette with electronic pre-set buttons!!!!!!
However, when the seller emphasises the amount of receipts and the amount of spares available, it suggests to me that this car needs lots of ongoing attention!

...at least that ongoing attention is doable and you won't need a diagnostic kit for it !

this was here before at the end of July in the 'proper 4x4' thread. Still can't persuade swmbo that we need it...

"his price is steep"
And the starting price is the same as the 'Buy it now'! He doesn't really understand auctions, does he?
Apart from that, it looks quite fun, although the standard 505 was pretty capable on the rough stuff IIRC, and had the same interior space.
