As child back in the mid 60s I used to admire an E Type Jaguar with the registration WOO 777 in the West Sussex area, it does not appear to be around my local area any more - has anyone seen it??

It's still registered to an e-type

According to the DVLA web site it's taxed to next June and it's cream. So it's still about somewhere.

For what it's worth, it's a London reg

OO is dagenham, most Fords out of the factory used to have ?OO registrations, I've had 2 588KOO & BOO606X.
|
Most Ox registrations were Birmingham but OO was the County of Essex, allocated specifically to Chelmsfors LVLO after registrations were centralised c1973.

I'm prepared to bet that if you ask this question on a Jag forum someone will know the driver.

I tried my own reg (new car 6mths old) on the quoted site, and it came back with a different model to one that it is, is there anthing I should do? Where do they get their information from?

Fascinating. My cars are all correct, and a car I sold 34 years ago is still registered.
