Just spotted an advert from a dealer in Luxembourg who says he will have a Bugatti Veyron in stock in October. No price though.
I can supply a phone number for anyone interested...

Can imagine the phone call from the bank if I tried to pay for that on a credit card. ;)

A Bugatti Veyron was sold last week for £1.1m at one of the world’s most expensive car auctions. Well-to-do guests at the Dream Auction at the Albert Hall in London were asked to dig deep into their pockets in aid of the NSPCC, the children’s charity.

The buyer is understood to be Bob Manoukian, who with a family fortune of £300m is joint 192nd in The Sunday Times Rich List and is a former agent for Prince Jefri, brother of the Sultan of Brunei.

Jeremy Clarkson was cheerleader in chief for the Bugatti auction, describing it as “the best car ever made”. Bids began at £800,000, the book value of the car, and the hammer came down within 90 seconds, making it the fastest sale of the night. At least £413,000 from the sale price went to the NSPCC.

Other lots included a VIP trip to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Among the faces at last Tuesday’s event were Uma Thurman, Jerry Hall and Sir Michael Caine. The auction raised £5.3m for the NSPCC. There are still hundreds of lots to bid for including an Aston Martin driving experience at www.dreamauctionfullstop.com
