Old Charade - Al 42
My mums Daihatsu Charade (1992) has now done 59K. This was my fathers last car and therefore has has a lot of sentimental value.

In the last 13 yrs it has only had 2 oil changes, 2 rear exhaust boxes and a couple of sets of tyres - nothing else. It's never failed to start or broken down and always flys through the MOT. The engine still seems quite sweet and doesn't smoke or use any oil in between the 5 year chages!!

As a new year treat for the car I'm going to get the coolant, B/fluid and pads, oil, plugs etc changed and; the timing belt.

Is there anything else I should consider to prolong the cars life and, could anyone advise me if it's only the belt that needs to be changed or, is there anything else associated with it that needs to be replaced at the same time. Also, would I be best advised to have this done at a dealer or is the belt on these easily done at any garage?
