Peugeot 306 (2000/W) Windscreen Wipers

Peugeot 306 (2000/W) Windscreen Wipers - alexsl
I have a 306 GTi6 that has the Automatic Rain Sensitive Wipers. These are now causing me no end of grief. About 95% of the time when the wipers return to the off/down position, they jerk up and down a few times by a good few inches. When in Auto mode, this is unbearable..

Is this a problem with all 306s, as my parents had a HDi D-Turbo that developed the same problem. And the big question is, can I do anything about this?

Any pointers greatly appreciated..

It sounds like a relay or motor problem rather than a problem with the rain sensor. Get hold of a new relay, they are pretty cheap.

To check the function of the sensor, switch it on and look into the sensor from outside the car at a sharp angle. You should be able to see a couloured light inside. If its green then its faulty, and if its orange then it is working fine.

I suspect this is caused by the wiper motor "park" switch. If ots part of the motor assembly it needs to come out to be repaired or replaced.

No idea what thats like on a pug.
