Suggestions anybody? The n/s rear door on our Xsara won't open. To gain access to the c/locking mechanism I need to remove the door trim. To remove the door trim I need to open the door.....

Had exactly the same problem with the old ZX! We found it was the locking mechanism, and that if you really pull the lock/unlocked indicator sliding thing inside (and pull seriously hard so that it clicks, and then clicks again - though I suppose pulling too hard may break it altogether) you can just about open it. Then I sprayed a serious amount of WD40 in the locking mech, which kept it working for about a week. But as you say, once it's open you can take off the trim and have a proper look...

Remove the seat base and lie on your stomach, you can then remove the door card.
