bmw 325td 1994 warm start problems - arj
The diesel engine starts immediately after using the heater when cold. However when hot/warm need to crank the engine for ages and eventually it will start, blowing lots of white smoke out of the exhaust. Once going the engine runs OK.

Anyone any idea whats wrong? Water temperature reads OK so maybe its some other sensor??

People will tell you or sorts of reasons, but the most common cause is a £5 sensor in the top of the fuel injection pump. Luckily this is available from Bosch diesel parts suppliers, and not that bad a DIY job.
