Aircon - Zapping Power - IanW1977
The last few weeks I've noticed a big differance in power (more than normal) when I turn on the Aircon.

Normally it's bearable with being a tiny engine but lately it's really feeling the strain.

Had the Belt changed and the aircon all tested and regassed last October so that side of things is fine. So is it time to get a new battery as it's 5 years old now.

Changing the battery won't make any difference to power unless you are refering to cranking speed. Maybe the compressor is starting to seize up. Not uncommon if it is not run regularly.

The engines only 800cc so having the aircon makes a differance.
The aircon is on for 20 mins daily as advised somewhere on these pages.

But yeah I get your point Re battery.
Might get it checked out anyway while it's on my mind.

The compressor can take between 8 & 10KW, so it's going to make a bit of difference.

It's noticable anyway but recently it's become even more noticable (if you get what I mean ?)
