Ford Fiesta brakes - GrahamF1
Ford Fiesta, 1999 - brakes are squealing.

Plenty of pad material, and discs look fine. Can anyone offer any advice before I start pulling the rear drums apart?

Also, the caliper guide pins on the front discs seem to require some sort of enormous allen key. Can anyone clarify what's required here? I'm not even sure I'll be able to buy the required tool easily.

Cheers in advance.

If I remember my Fiesta correctly the caliper was held on with two sliders which needed a 7mm allen key bit which was easily bought from a local motor factors.

Squealing brakes usually means a good strip down, clean and re-assemble with copper grease in the appropriate places.

Thanks Snakey.

A couple of pounds purchased the required 7mm long-reach hexagonal wrench (basically a fancy allen key). Tool by Draper, sold by JB Autospares of Huntingdon (who are pretty good for almost everything).

Agree with Snakey..would add to deglaze the shoes and brake drums-helps prevent squealing
