hi
while fitting an alarm i touched two wires together and blew the fuse on the c/locking now it does not work unless the ignition is on i changed the micro switch in the door but nothing happened any ideas what else it could be.

What year is the Astra?

its a 97 td 1 wire went to the micro switch

you have possibly damaged CD locking relay,located behind o/s/f footwell plastic panel.Try disconnecting it for 5 mins .it may reset ,if you are lucky!It is a black relay &may have the name kierkert stamped on it.

I had a look at the Astra wiring diagrams - similar to the Cavalier.

1. There are TWO fuses for the CDL - I think that they are F1 and F20 but this can be checked by looking on the back of the fusebox coverplate.

2. Check that the micro-switch is not the problem - you have changed the switch but disconnect and try the locking from the passenger side. Did you change the correct switch - this has three wires. If it is like the Cavalier then there may be a switch for the window lift when locking - two wires.

3. If this fails you may have damaged the CDL module

i have changed the cdl module which is also the relay all in one on the later models and now everything works ok
£64 at vauxhall £2 scrap yard
