Help - does anyone know which are the quietest estate cars at motorway speeds? My benchmark is a 1996 E280 Merc (w124 series) which seems good, whilst using the 1997 corolla for a long journey is a lot harder on the ears. Especially would any backroomer have compared a merc like this with the new mondeo, accord, or other load carrier? I have recently test driven a four cylinder e class and was suprised even at the difference in that - though it may have been knackered.
